Arundel Castle

Take one castle and turn it into another – a film trick for Arundel Castle in West Sussex for the movie, The Young Victoria starring Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend.  The castle built at the end of the 11th Century is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and became a double in the film for Windsor Castle in Berkshire. Helen James Productions went on a tour to film a video feature on the inside story of Arundel Castle’s adaptation for the Hollywood movie, The Young Victoria.

Helen James Productions and the Hollywood film crew were among the latest of the very many visitors attracted to Arundel Castle not least real life royals including Queen Victoria who visited with her husband Prince Albert in 1846.

Arundel Castle has rightful acclaim to being one of the greatest treasure houses of England with priceless works of art from across the centuries housed there – as well as being one of the first English country houses in 1900 to be fitted with electric light, integral fire fighting equipment, service lifts and central heating!
