Chris Maughan - Biography

Chris Maughan is an accomplished reporter, presenter and producer with a track record which reflects his versatility and ability to operate in many areas of the media. 

Combining a strong background in the print media with his broadcasting work, Chris has an enviable reputation as an all-rounder whose incisive writing and editing skills have been in demand across a wide range of news and sports productions.

As well as studio and location presenting for ITV’s regional news shows across the south, Chris also has a wealth of experience at international events. He joined the European Broadcast Union’s production team at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 and in Athens in 2004; he reported for Host Broadcast Services at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany;  he was ITV Sport’s ‘England Reporter’ for their BAFTA winning coverage of the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia, which included live interviews to a global audience with Martin Johnson and Sir Clive Woodward moments after the final whistle. At the 2007 Rugby World Cup Chris was the host broadcast interviewer for matches played in Edinburgh and Cardiff.

In addition to many network credits for football, rugby and Formula One, Chris has also produced, presented and produced countless regional shows such as the Meridian Match, Fight Night, The Royal Windsor Horse Show, International Horse Trials,  Sevens Rugby, Live Army Navy Rugby, Nations Cup Showjumping and also many videos for sports clubs.

Since leaving ITV Meridian in 2009, Chris has been working for a wide range of television production companies as well as writing for newspapers and magazines and passing on his skills through media training work.
