Simon Welsford

An independent filmmaker to watch is Simon Welsford who produced his highly acclaimed debut feature film ‘Jetsam’ for under £3,000. 

Simon who wrote and directed the film, used locations around Margate in Kent for the thriller about a woman washed up on a beach with no memory of why she’s there or what has happened.  Helen James Productions featured Simon and his film in a special report for ITV Meridian Tonight television news.  

The filming wrapped in 2006 and in August 2009 ‘Jetsam’ distributed by Jinga Films was granted a national release in the UK in 2009.
